Since there are a zillion different dating sites online there is no reason to stick with just one.  If you are not having success in either finding profiles that interest you or getting responses, look for another online dating site to join. Sites like Yahoo! Personals! are good because not only is it relative inexpensive–think about it, it costs less than ordering a pizza–but if you search using the advance search you will be able to drill down to specific profiles that should be close to who you would like to meet. Advance search saves a lot of time, hassle and heartache.

When you are selecting the various options for your advance search, pay attention! If these items are important to you for a dating partner, they must be important to the person looking for YOU!  When you write your own profile be sure to mention the ones that are most important to you. But don’t just mention it-expand on it a little! This will spark some interest in the reader. Here’s what I mean:

If you selected ‘outdoor interests’, you may be tempted to write in your profile-”I like to do outdoor activities, particularly hiking new trails.” Kind of boring, isn’t it? If you read that would you be intriged or skip it?  What if you wrote: ” I really enjoy being outdoors and love to hike. In fact, I just did a fantastic hike in the Tahoe Basin and look forward to exploring new trails with you.”

 Wow! Can you see the difference? If you read that in a profile, wouldn’t you want to contact that person? So why not make your profile like the ones that draw you.
